Success Story: Jefferson County
JCPS began implementing Earobics as an after-school program in schools around the district.
The next 3 years brought continued expansion of the program to additional after-school programs. Many schools began using it with their students during the school day as well, adding to their implementations with school-based funds and Reading First funds.
In 2004, the district reorganized to a 3-tier system for all schools, which included a core, an intervention, and an intensive intervention that would be available to all students in all schools. Due to the success and enthusiasm for Earobics, the program was selected to be the sole intervention that is part of Jefferson County's Literacy Initiative.
As of Spring 2005, every K-3 student and teacher in Jefferson County's 87 elementary schools has access Earobics as an integral part of their literacy program.
